About project
Snowball is an innovative platform designed to assist individuals with disabilities in finding and reviewing accessible locations across the globe. Whether it’s restaurants, shops, attractions, or other places of interest, Snowball provides a reliable, user-driven database of accessibility reviews to ensure that people with disabilities can make informed decisions before visiting. By connecting users to a global community that shares accessibility experiences, Snowball fosters a sense of belonging and empowerment for those navigating the challenges of finding suitable venues.
Developed using cutting-edge technologies, Snowball leverages the power of Vue.js and Framework7 to deliver a seamless mobile experience for users. The system’s responsive design, powered by Bootstrap, ensures that users can easily browse accessibility information from any device, while the robust back-end is driven by CakePHP and MariaDB, providing a secure and scalable platform for managing a growing community. Admins have access to a comprehensive database and control panel, enabling them to manage data effectively and ensure the platform remains up-to-date with the latest user-generated reviews.
At its core, Snowball is more than just a review platform; it’s a community. Users can create accounts to share their own experiences and help others in similar situations. By contributing reviews on the accessibility of various locations, they help build a trustworthy database that instills confidence in the disabled community. Snowball’s mission is to make the world more accessible, one review at a time.
Snowball’s commitment to inclusivity is reflected in its global reach. The platform enables users to explore accessibility levels at locations worldwide, ensuring that no matter where they go, they can feel confident in the accessibility of their destination. Snowball isn’t just a tool – it’s a lifeline for people with disabilities, helping them engage more fully with the world around them.
